Meet the Team!

Tucked away at the end of the school is Platform 9 3/4, Narnia, Panem and wherever else your imagination can take you as it is the home of the English Department. Meet the team below and learn a bit more about us. Click on the word documents to learn more about our favourite books!

Miss S Peacock

Hello! I'm the Head of English and I've been fortunate to have been at De Aston since 2014. My favourite book is Rebecca, so do read about why I love it so!

Miss M Laine

Miss Laine joined us in September 2017 and as well as teaching English, she is also a Head of Year. Her favourite book is the Dickens' classic 'Great Expectations' - read why below!

Mrs E Reynolds

Mrs Reynolds joined us in 2015 and her favourite book is Voices in the Park. Have a read about it below!

Miss G Clark

Miss Clark joined us in September 2018. As well as being the school's Senior Head of House she is also second in charge of the English department. Her favourite book is King's 'Pet Sematary' - read why!

Mrs E Masterman

Mrs Masterman joined De Aston in 2011 and her favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird. An absolute classic!

Mr K Halsall

Mr Halsall joined De Aston in 2009 and his favourite books is a collection of poems by Tony Harrison.

Mr S Porter

Mr Porter is the headteacher of De Aston School but joined as Head of English in 1999. He is therefore forever an honorary member of the department and he teaches KS4 and KS5.
